Originally from York, Nebraska, “Dr J” attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska, and received his DDS from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry in 1979. He and his wife Debra came south for the warmer winters and never left.

In 2018, Dr J decided to give back to the profession he loves by joining with Mobile Smiles Oklahoma, which is a part of the Oklahoma Dental Foundation and becoming a preceptor for 4th year University of Oklahoma Dental students.
